    1. Clients agree to complete background questionnaires and provide school information at least 24 hours prior to the assessment.

    2. The individual must bring any usual aids (e.g. prescription glasses, overlays) on the day of an in person assessment. Failure to bring prescription glasses would interfere with test data and reliability.

    1. Clients agree to provide truthful, accurate and complete information relevant to the individual’s learning and medical history.

    2. Clients are responsible for arranging the assessment and providing necessary background questionnaires.

    3. For online sessions, Clients must ensure stable internet access and an appropriate environment free from interruptions and distractions.

    4. Individuals are expected to participate respectfully and follow instructions during assessments and lessons.

    5. We provide Clients with a free online 30 minute consultation at the start of the engagement, a 30 minute meeting post report and catch up calls after each block of 6 tuition sessions to review progress and discuss any concerns. Any communication with Clients, including but not limited to answering queries and requests for feedback outside of the above or beyond dealing with logistical arrangements may be charged at an hourly rate.

  1. Assessment Conduct and Safeguarding

    1. The assessor holds a valid Enhanced DBS certificate and is registered with the DBS Update Service and is highly experienced in working with children and young people.

    2. The assessor will conduct all assessments professionally, ethically and with full regard for the wellbeing of the individual being assessed.

    3. Clients are not permitted to remain in the assessment room, as their presence may affect confidentiality and the accuracy of the results. Please note that Clients are not required to stay on site and may return at an agreed time. They must provide a working contact number and remain reachable throughout the session.

    4. If an individual becomes distressed or unwell during the assessment process, the assessor reserves the right to stop the session in the interests of the individual's wellbeing.

  1. After the Assessment

    1. Reports will be issued within 14 working days of the assessment and are written in line with the SpLD Assessment Standards Committee guidelines. The report will be sent as a password-protected document via email. Clients are advised to download and store their copy securely.

    2. If indications of a visual difficulty are noted during the session, the assessor may delay finalising the report until the issue has been clarified.

    3. Clients may request minor amendments to background information within 30 days of receiving the report.

    4. Once the report has been finalised (no later than 30 days after delivery), the assessment process is considered complete.

    5. A feedback meeting may be arranged to discuss the report and recommendations (which is included in the price of the assessment).

  1. Privacy and Data Management

    1. All personal information is handled in accordance with UK GDPR and Data Protection legislation. A separate Privacy Policy provides full details.

    2. After the report is completed, all questionnaires, raw data sheets, and related paperwork are destroyed. In certain circumstances, scanned record forms are saved securely.

    3. Final reports are kept securely for six years after the individual’s 18th birthday, or six years from the date of the assessment for adults. During this time, you may request an additional electronic copy.

    4. After the retention period ends, the report and all associated records will be permanently deleted, and no further copies can be provided. For this reason, it is strongly recommended that Clients keep their own copy stored safely.
