  • Bespoke and adaptive tuition to support literacy and numeracy.

Specialist teachers have expertise in strategies to support reading, writing, spelling, maths and study skills. These skills are taught using multi-sensory strategies, suited to the learning profile of your child. Multi-sensory learning, which integrates visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic approaches, effectively boosts memory and learning. This method uses strengths to support weaknesses and promotes long-term retention and automaticity. Tasks will be broken down into manageable chunks and will draw on the strengths of the learner to support areas of weakness. Academic learning is supported and self-esteem, confidence and independence are developed at the same time.

Sessions last 50 mins and are delivered in-person or online.

  • All assessment packages include a 30-minute feedback meeting to review the report and discuss the findings in detail. This ensures you fully understand the outcomes and recommendations before deciding on next steps.

If you would like further guidance or follow-up support after implementing the recommendations, or wish to schedule a ‘check-in’ session to review progress, this is the service to book.

This consultancy is also available for families whose child has been assessed elsewhere but who are seeking clarity, practical advice, or tailored next steps to help move things forward.

During these sessions, we can explore key questions such as:

    • How do we action the recommendations effectively at home and in school?

    • What are the next steps for support or intervention?

    • How can we manage the transition to secondary school or a new learning environment smoothly?

    Additional consultancy services can include:

    • School liaison and advocacy – support in communicating with teachers, SENCOs, or educational settings.

    • Review of educational or therapy plans (e.g., EHCPs, IEPs, or support targets).

    • Resource and strategy planning for home and school.

    • Progress reviews to track the effectiveness of interventions and make adjustments as needed.

Our goal is to provide you with clear, actionable guidance and ongoing support tailored to your child’s unique needs.

FAQ

  • Not necessarily.

An assessment does provide a very useful insight into a child’s cognitive and learning profile. We can however use the first session to carry out informal attainment testing and use these results to set targets. If you decide to do want to have you child assessed or screened at a later date we can arrange this and make adaptions to the tuition sessions that might be necessary.

  • Yes. It is important for the parents to be involved in the tuition process. We offer ‘catch up’ calls after 6 sessions to review progress and discuss any concerns.

  • This depends on the learner and their targets. Homework would only be set if it was genuinely useful for the child.

  • We are passionate about study skills. We want to empower your children to be more independent and get the most from their education. Teaching your child how to learn (using tools including metacognitive strategies, memory, planning, exam techniques) enables them to tackle academic learning with more confidence. The skills we teach are fully transferable and are just as relevant at university level as they are at GCSE and A Level.
